Être en chemin

« Être en chemin » : la devise de Mackoaching est en relation directe avec le fait que j’accompagne principalement des personnes en transition vers un horizon professionnel et souvent personnel inconnu à leurs yeux au début. Afin de permettre à ces pèlerins de la vie d’éclairer un parcours parfois sinueux et manquant par moments singulièrement de clarté, je les accompagne en parallèle sur un chemin certainement moins spectaculaire mais ô combien riche en (re)découvertes : celui qui les mène vers elles-mêmes, vers leurs valeurs, leurs besoins, leurs rêves, leur points forts, leurs limites aussi.

L’ « être en chemin » désigne donc à la fois la personne en transition et ce double processus de cheminement : vers un but et vers soi.

Si l’accompagnement d’« êtres en chemin » est aujourd’hui au centre de mes activités professionnelles (et l’a au fond toujours été sans que j’en aies été vraiment conscient), c’est indéniablement grâce à mes transitions personnelles et mes cheminements, tant intérieurs qu’extérieurs : le fait d’accompagner d’autres personnes m’aide à rester vigilant (ou « vie-gilant ») et attentif à mes propres valeurs et besoins – un double accompagnement en quelque sorte.

Au fil des années et des expériences, j’ai aménagé des « espaces d’intimité » qui me permettent de « cheminer vers moi » de manière plus consciente encore et, dans certains cas, le cheminement intérieur se fait de pair avec la marche physique. C’est notamment le cas quand je vis une retraite, une semaine par an, dans un monastère ou un couvent, placé si possible dans un lieu qui soit propice aux ballades et au contact avec la nature.

J’ai vécu ma première expérience de « double cheminement » à l’Hospice du Grand Saint-Bernard, en juillet 2009. La devise des chanoines de cet ordre étant l’accueil, je me suis dit que cela serait l’endroit idéal pour m’accueillir moi-même. Et je n’ai pas été déçu : de vraies retrouvailles. Avec mon être profond, avec la vie, avec des valeurs qui me sont chères, avec la nature, à la fois généreuse et presque lunaire (Le Col du même nom se situe à plus de 2'400 mètres), avec des personnes venant souvent chercher la même lumière et le même silence

Malgré la présence de symptômes neurologiques souvent handicapants (vertiges, spasmes, manque de proprioception dans les jambes, mini-crises de panique,…), j’étais fermement décidé à marcher, ne serait-ce que une demie-heure chaque jour. Sans savoir que, tout au long de ces petits pèlerinages, j’allais découvrir quelques « bornes », quelques points de repères utiles au cheminement, plus symbolique, de la vie.

Voici quelques extraits d’un autre « espace d’intimité », mon journal de vie, dont je partage volontiers ce passage aujourd’hui. Je tiens à préciser, en préambule, que le fait de marcher en haute montagne, surtout quand on n’a pas l’habitude de ce genre d’effort, ne fait qu’exacerber les sensations et, donc, les sentiments : le souffle est – encore plus – court, les passages parfois dangereux, la signalisation difficile à décrypter, le but invisible et on marche souvent très longtemps seul…Ça ne vous rappelle par certains moments de votre vie ?

Ce n’est pas le but qui compte, mais bien le chemin et la façon de marcher et de respirer ;
Un pas devant l’autre, à la recherche d’un équilibre extérieur – physique – et intérieur – le souffle – à redéfinir à chaque pas ;
Il est difficile, voire impossible, à la fois d’avancer en assurant ses pas et, en même temps, de regarder où on va : des pauses d’orientation, de vision rétrospective et prospectives sont nécessaires ;
Le chemin n’est parfois pas clairement indiqué – même assez souvent : se fier à son intuition, à des traces laissées par d’autres promeneurs (ndlr : des sortes de kerns, des tas de pierres qui sont autant d’invitations à s’arrêter et à contempler), à des rencontres de toutes sortes (ndlr : le cri strident d’une marmotte a attiré mon attention sur le fait que je n’étais probablement pas parti dans la bonne direction) ;
En cas de besoin, ne pas hésiter à demander de l’aide ;
On peut se tromper de chemin, ce n’est pas grave : on perd peut-être du temps, mais on gagne en expérience ;
Le fait de savoir exactement où on va rend le chemin moins captivant, moins présent : on peut se perdre en pensées parasites (ndlr : comme on pense savoir dans quelle direction aller, on est parfois moins attentif au chemin et à ses beautés) ;
Lorsqu’on est ainsi pleinement concentré, le temps ne compte pas, il est comme suspendu ;
Chaque pas peut, selon les endroits, être fatal : cheville tordue, glissade, perte d’équilibre. Deux écueils à éviter : être trop sûr de soi ou ne pas l’être assez. Autrement dit : se croire invincible et immortel ou laisser les peurs nous paralyser ;
La marche en (haute) montagne rend humble et modeste : en contemplant les cimes parfois inatteignables, on réalise notre insignifiance – ou plutôt que notre signification n’est pas uniquement en lien avec nous-mêmes mais également en rapport avec l’immensité de la nature, du silence, du ciel, de la création ;
Il est bon de s’arrêter régulièrement pour évaluer le chemin parcouru et à parcourir, mais aussi pour contempler et savourer le moment présent.

Je te souhaite à toi aussi, cher lecteur, de trouver ton chemin….au propre comme au figuré. Et, pourquoi pas, de te faire accompagner : si tu as la possibilité d’engager un « accompagnant de haute montagne », qu’est-ce qui t’empêches de faire appel aux services d’un « coach en haute vie » ?
